Living Proof Dry Shampoo || Review

Hey all, Sarah here!

Now we have been incredibly busy. We’ve both got full time jobs aside from this and things can get pretty crazy sometimes. We both get up pretty early in the morning… And there are times when we try and squeeze an extra 10 minutes of kip before getting up. Sadly because we do that (a lot!) one thing’s got to give – unfortunately it’s washing our hair. At our laziest, we probably wash our hair twice a week. I do it because my hair can get pretty dry if I wash it more than that. Ally does it because her hair gets super greasy if she washes it too often. So we heavily rely on dry shampoo on these days.

We have tried plenty over the years and we have been fortunate enough to be sent this complimentary Living Proof Perfect hair Day dry shampoo by Influester to test out.

DISCLAIMER: We have been sent this for free to review, but you know we want to be 100% honest at all times with you all. Our opinions will be our own genuine ones and has not been affected by anything.

If you wanna know more about how we found it, keep on reading!

It is described as:

“Powered by Living Proof’s patented Healthy Hair Molecule (OFPMA) and Triple-Action Cleaning Technology, Living Proof Perfect Hair Day (PhD) Dry Shampoo cleans beyond ordinary dry shampoos.”

With the help of these technologies, it claims that it:

– Absorbs and removes oil, sweat and odour.
– Makes your hair look, feel and smell clean.
– Works on all hair colours because it leaves virtually no visible residue or powdery build-up behind.
– Has a time-released fragrance to deliver a light, clean scent throughout the day.
– Safe and formulated for colour and chemically treated hair.
– Ideal for all hair types.

Another feature is that it is silicon-free.

For us, there are a few issues that we found in a few dry shampoos we’ve tried. The smell can often be very strong and aerosol-like. Because we have dark/black hair, dry shampoos always leave white flecks in our hair that never want to leave. They also never last long enough – and I mean within the hour, my hair looks ridiculous. And lastly, we HATE the fact that it leaves our hair feeling super dry and crunchy.

(excuse how miserable I look on the right – what the heck?!)

The pictures above are what my hair looked like BEFORE using the dry shampoo. This is also day 2 of now washing my hair. As you can see, the roots are quite shiny and flat whereas the bottom looks fine, maybe slightly dry 😦 .

I sprayed it mainly on the top section of my hair and waited 30 seconds to activate the powders and massaged my hair with my fingers. I then brushed it to finish off.

after using the dry shampoo – she’s not so grumpy!

As you can see, the top of my head is less shiny and has volume. The hair just doesn’t look heavy as before. A few things I noticed:

  • it smells like a spa! Like an luxurious spa smell.
  • after massaging it into my hair, there were no white flecks at all.
  • my hair feels soft and not dry/crunchy at all.

So that ticks a few off my boxes – the smell, no flecks and crunch factor. Although it doesn’t claim to be long lasting, it did last longer than other ones I’ve tried but not as long as I wanted it too. My hair did smell great throughout the day and it stayed soft too which was lovely.

Would we recommend it?

We honestly would. It did a lot of what it claimed it could do which we’ve yet to find a dry shampoo that does that. It personally ticked a lot of the boxes for me and what I want in my dry shampoo. And really what more can you ask for?

That’s all for now peeps!

peace&love❤️
