Hey all! Hope you’re weekend has been amazing – here’s another week BUT another week closer to CHRISTMAS (too soon??).
So it’s Monday – booo!! – and what better to cheer ourselves up than Dupe Time. We thought we’d start introducing some dupes whether it be a makeup product or tools and share with you guys what we have found out.
By now everyone has seen these brush cleaners everywhere. For those who haven’t, it’s a dry brush cleaner that you can use to get rid of excess shadows from the brush so your shadows don’t mix. Now these retail on Amazon from £2.99 to a staggering £21.99! The idea behind it is genius and perfect really if you haven’t got an array of different brushes.
After looking through the pictures and trying to identify what we could use as a substitute. And found this –
THE HUMBLE HAIR DONUT
We bought this from Poundland for – can you guess? – £1. And it works really well.
We can’t really compare the two as we don’t have the “official” dry brush cleaner. It does look like it is made from very similar material which is quite coarse. But what we can tell you is that it works. After using a shadow, just rub your brush along the hair donut and it gets rid of the excess shadow. One of my fears was that rubbing my brushes on a coarse surface may break or ruin the hairs, but it actually doesn’t. I used it on one of our Spectrum brushes, which we know is of a high quality, and none hairs fell which was good.
If you want to try a dry brush cleaner out and don’t want to splurge on the ones online, we would recommend purchasing one of these out first just to see if you like it really and see if it doesn’t work out for you.
See you next time!
peace&love❤️
