Another day, another #flashbackfriday 😃
Today’s Flashback is a full face using our most expensive/high end makeup. We are drugstore makeup lovers, mainly because we just are wary of buying pricey makeup and it not for us. We do watch reviews on items that we may like to buy but often we end up talking ourselves out of it and just getting the dupe. The items we used for this look were either from our Birchbox subscription (we researched how much they retail), we got from sales or using vouchers or points. Some are also mini’s that we thought we would get just to try it out.
Benefit That Gal Brightening Face Primer, which we got from a Christmas set we got last year. It’s only a mini one so I am surprised it has lasted us this long!
Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation in 4.5 – we had heard so many good things about this foundation and it’s fine. It’s definitely not something we use all the time though.
Makeup Forever 5 Camouflage Cream Palette which was a buy from TKMaxx! An absolute steal! We bought it for £6.99 I think and it normally retails at around £25! It’s a good concealer as it has 5 different shades, one of which is a colour corrector.
High Beam highlighter by Benefit to highlight – which we hate! This just never works for us at all. It always seems to either dries super quick that we can’t blend it. Or it just blends weird and patchy.
Lancome Blush Rose Paradis was super pretty and pigmented so we tried to be light with it – clearly didn’t work!
Manna Kadar HD Perfecting Powder – We got this from our Birchbox subscription and it’s really nice. It just melts into the skin and leaves a lovely finish.
Benefit Hoola – tried and tested! Absolutely love this bronzer. We didn’t think we would ever use the brush it came with but it’s actually really good for contouring as it gives you a really nice cut cheekbone.
Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original – This is a really good primer. We don’t use it often again but we really should. It holds eyeshadow and doesn’t crinkle.
Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil 5 – We had to give this to our mum because it wasn’t working for us. We definitely prefer the Precisely brow pencil as it is finer and you can achieve a more natural look with it. It was a good pencil, creamy and not hard – just difficult for us to create a precise brow.
Kat Von D Inkliner Trooper – super black and super pigmented. There’s a lot of hype surrounding KVD products and we aren’t shocked! This liner delivered. We got in a mini set along with the lip product we used and the only gripe I personally have is the size. Because it’s a mini, it was hard to get the wing correct. But that’s not the product itslef’s fault. I just think mini liquid liners are harder to use.
Urban Decay Perversion Mascara – again a mini ( See? We are cheapskates 😅). It made the lashes really voluminous BUT clumpy.
Urban Decay Naked 3 & Nocturnal Shadow Box – We are really into these shadows. Especially the Nocturnal one! I just think the shadows are pigmented but blends in super nice. I guess the quality of these shadows are why people spend that much more to buy them because they are high quality. You get a lot colour for little product which is good when you spend that much on it!
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bow n Arrow – just like with the liner, we see why her products are hyped about! Really opaque and beautiful colour. This was a gamble purchase because here in the UK, KVD products are only sold online so you can’t swatch it to see not just the shade against your skin tone but also the formula. So this was a risk! But we were, still are, really happy with it. We use it sparingly as it is only a mini and we don’t want to run out!
That’s all for now folks! We hope you have an amazing weekend!
Peace & Love ❤️
