Hey all and Happy October! We can’t believe it’s already October – this year is flying by so fast! We are going to kick October off with a review of this pretty palette. After searching on the internet, we saw that this is sold by Hot Topic! I mean, here in England we don’t have Hot Topic and what we do know about it is just from TV shows and Movies. Our impression was that it was catered more for goths and generally wouldn’t have expected this colourful Disney palette to come from there.

First off packaging – it is staying very true to the movie; a lot of flowers all over and then bamboo drawings on the inside. The brush that comes with it has a bamboo detail too. The cute Lilo & Stitch at the front is so cute too! Inside there is a mirror (which is always handy) in the shape of Stitch’s head. We aren’t sure if it came in another box like some palettes do because our sister gave it to us without an outer box.

Next up, the shades – there are 12 shades with 5 shimmers and the rest are matte. The names again remind you of Hawaii or are named after things from the movie. The shade Kaua’i is by far our fave! We used it in our Green Halo look and it is stunning on the lid. The shimmers all have a buttery texture and are pigmented. We didn’t have to use fixing spray to intensify the shadows at all.

Downsides to it, the blue matte shade (Experiment 626) are really disappointing. At first application on the lid, it look pigmented but as you blend it out, it just disappears and you have to layer it a few times. The brush was quite hard, a bit too hard for us to use. It’s more of a pencil brush but it didn’t really pick up any product so we gave up on that pretty quick. I know people don’t tend to use the brush that come with palettes but I suppose the brand probably added it in for the consumer to use so we feel that we should at least try it and see how it. Then we can make a decision as to whether or not to use it again. It also doesn’t have a transition shade. Bungalow  could be used but on us it’s too dark to apply on first. We ended up using a bronzer as a transition shade because none of the colour would work on us.

This palette really good for when you want to do a colourful and fun look. The shimmer are definitely a must to play around with in this palette. It’s such a shame we can’t get anymore products from this place. When I was browsing through the Hot Topic makeup section online, I saw sooooo many things I would LOVE to try 😫. If you want to create fun bright colours with great shimmers, this is for you.

Til next time folks!

Peace & Love ❤️

The shades look beautiful, but it’s disappointed that the blue shade isn’t pigmented!

I know 🙁 the shimmers make up for it though!
